Raasta the movie, launched its music with a great fanfare at Port Grand, Karachi. For the first time a movie in Pakistan has focused precisely on launching its music publically. The movie will be released in March 2017 but the music has already been viral and released with a great zeal. The music launch was attended by a crowd of over 15,000 people. Various renowned names from showbiz also graced the launch with their presence including, star Shabnam, Syed Noor, Shabbir Jan, Shaista Lodhi and Shehroz Sabzwari.
The music has been delicately composed by the well-known names of music industry, Kamran Akhtar and Saji Ali. The lyrics has been penned down by Sahir himself and Saji Ali. The vocals include great names like Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Nabeel Shaukat, Damiya Farooqui, Sara Raza Khan and Saji Ali. A lot of effort had been put in the music of the movie making sure that it meets cross border standards and is widely ranged over different genres. Here is what the lead composer Saji Ali had to say about the music:
“The music has every flavor that should be there to make it a hit. Rahat is there, Nabeel is there and we have some amazing young talent in the music team as well. I believe the movie will make a mark as there had been a lot of effort put into it. Sahir is a great support for everyone and really nice to work with. I have never seen a setup this huge done for music launch in Pakistan.”

- Dil Faqeer by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. The song a Qawwali and Ghazal based track with a lot of energy and profound lyrics.
- Meharman by Nabeel Shaukat and Damiya Farooqi. A light toned song with melodious vocals.
- Pee lay by Saji Ali and Saman Sabri. An item number with a touch of liveliness.
- Chotee Umariya by Sara Raza & Saji Ali. A song with strong lyrics and delicate music composition touching every soul that is passes through.
- Raasta by Saji Ali. The theme song of the movie. Rock by nature, with a sufi touch in lyrics.

The launch was glittered by performances of many star such as, Esha Noor, Aleena Khan, Naveed Raza, Mathira, Shafay Lodhi, Jamshed Sabri and Sahir himself. The stars made the that the music of Raasta is well depicted to the audience and the colors that this music list is enriched in, are well spread in the air.

As the music suggests, the movie is crafted with a great exertion. Raasta is an action-thriller revolving around the lives of two brothers who try to bond and take revenge in the failed political system in Pakistan. It has been directed by Sahir Lodhi, produced by Moid Ul Hasan, Dr. Faisal Zia and Sahir Lodhi and co-written by Shahid Naqvi and Sahir Lodhi. The stellar cast included Aijaz Aslam, Shamoon Abbasi, Sana Nawaz, Naveed Raza, Abeer Rivzi and Sahir Lodhi.
For the first time a movie from Pakistan spotted light on significance of music in its success. The launch was first of its kind, and sets a new direction for upcoming movies to work with ardor on the essential part of a movie’s success, that is music.
