After Tajdar-e-Haram Coke Studio’s Afreen Afreen completes 100M views on YouTube

The renewed version of NFAK’s evergreen qawwali ‘Afreen Afreen’ from Coke Studio season 9 had the whole nation head over heels. The song that marks as Momina Mustehsan’s claim to fame, has recently hit 100 Million views on YouTube after Tajdar-e-Haram.

Hardly anyone denies the beauty of the song, power packed with melodious vocals of Momina Mustehsan and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. The song successfully made waves not only in Pakistan but also across the border all over the globe.


Afreen Afreen’s popularity was amplified by multiple international Youtubers who gave positive reviews on the song besides the fact that it wasn’t from their own language.


 

They entitled the music as “gentle” and found Momina’s voice “relaxing”. Saying that “Pakistanis have a fantastic weapon in their throat that can not be found anywhere else in the world.”

The lyrics itself are so pure that the listener couldn’t get away without praising them either. Whoever listened to it tried catching up to the “Afreen Afreen” lyrics and sang along.

Over the past decade, Coke Studio remains that one music platform that has maintained the reputation of being ‘Sound Of The Nation’ all around the world; be it ‘Tajdar-e-Haram’ from Season 8 which recently crossed 100 million views or ‘Tera Woh Pyar’ from Season 9 with 50 million views. The numbers speak for itself!

One must praise the fact that ‘Afreen Afreen’ has crossed 100 million views in just a period of 1 year which is a proud moment for entire Coke Studio team for making the song what it is.
