A subject of significant relevance that is frequently ignored takes center stage in Meesum Naqvi’s drama Mayi Ri. We are brilliantly reintroduced to the frightening reality of child marriages in the recently released teaser for this upcoming drama serial. Mayi Ri urges us to consider the terrible effects of this deeply ingrained practice through its striking images and compelling storytelling.
The teaser video begins with a small girl playing hopscotch while dressed in her school uniform. She wanders onto a library out of curiosity and becomes intrigued by the abundance of information it holds. But when we see her go from joyful play to a harsh reality, the story takes a gloomy turn. She is forced to shoulder adult duties like preparing a complete meal in a kitchen, which is intimidating for someone her age.
Weep-inducing scenes in the Mayi Ri teaser increase its emotional impact even further. In one instance, a little kid is holding a baby who is crying helplessly.
